ABOUT THE ARTIST
Doreen Starling is an award-winning artist whose photographs and paintings have been exhibited throughout the United States, including her current works at RiverView Gallery in Havre de Grace, Maryland, and Market Gallery in Roanoke, Virginia.
She has won juried awards from the Maryland Federation of Art (Annapolis, MD), the Howard County Arts Council (Columbia, MD), Art Studio on the Boulevard (Virginia Beach, VA), and Bower Center for the Arts (Bedford, VA). Her artwork was featured in Link: A Critical Journal on the Arts in Baltimore and the World, and in the journal Artemis.
In addition to photography and painting, her professional background includes writing, editing, and graphic design. She holds a master of arts in publications design from the University of Baltimore, and a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Maryland, College Park. She received many years of training in fine art from the accomplished artist and teacher, David Zuccarini, in Ellicott City, Maryland, beginning in the 1980s.
